At dinner, I held up a can of baby corn and asked my 5-year-old if I should add it.
He decided not to.
A moment later, he looked at me and said:
“What did the baby corn say to the mama…?”
I paused.
I chuckled.
Then I asked, “What?”
Without missing a beat, he answered:
“Is pop corn!?”
I knew I married into dad jokes.
I just didn’t realize I’d be contributing one to society.
Kids are little sponges. And when your husband is big into corny dad jokes, your kids hear them all day long. Naturally, they start creating their own — completely unprompted and at the most random times.
These are the moments that get us through the long days.
The unexpected laughter.
The reminders that even in the chaos, there’s joy sitting right at the dinner table.
Motherhood is exhausting — but sometimes, it’s also really funny.
