Holiday Homemade Cider (Mom-Style Edition)
Because nothing says “festive” like a house that smells amazing… and a mom who’s slightly more relaxed.
Want your house to smell like it’s straight out of a home décor catalog? This cider is your secret weapon.
The kids love it warm or cold, and for moms? Well… let’s just say it gets even better when you “spice it up.” 😉
I’ve put this in recipe format, because somehow adding “to taste” makes it feel both official and deeply relatable.
Holiday “Magic in a Mug” Cider
Ingredients:
- Apples – a generous handful (or whatever’s rolling around in your fruit bowl)
- Oranges – 1–2, sliced into beautiful rounds… or chunks. Chunks work.
- Cranberries – a scoop (aka one big handful tossed in dramatically)
- Cinnamon Sticks – 1–3 (or until your kitchen starts smelling like a candle store)
- Extra Spices – to taste (nutmeg, cloves, star anise, mom’s choice)
- Optional “Mom Upgrade” – a splash (or… to taste) of your favorite adult beverage
Instructions:
- Dump everything into a pot like the domestic legend you are.
- Add water until it looks cider-ish.
- Simmer on low while pretending you’re effortlessly hosting a fall lifestyle segment.
- Ladle into mugs for the kids.
- For the adults: add your “spice it up” ingredient—measured to taste, which is code for until you feel your shoulders drop 3 inches.
Enjoy the cozy vibes, the heavenly smell, and the magical moment when someone says, “Wow, what’s that amazing smell?” and you get to say, with confidence:
“Oh, just my homemade cider. Here, have a cup!”
This cider is like a warm hug in a mug… with a splash of ‘I’m surviving the holidays like a pro.

My homemade holiday cider—crafted by yours truly and guaranteed to make your house smell soo good.
